Living the Christ Within

Authored by Rev. Carol

Introduction

This final part of the series explores Christ‑consciousness — the state of awareness that dissolves illusion, reveals Truth, and allows God to express through us without obstruction. Here we learn how to see through appearances and live from the Presence within.

The Christ as Our True Consciousness

It is the Christ that does the work — the Christ that heals, reveals, and dispels illusion. What is the Christ? It is our individual consciousness when freed from fear, judgment, and attachment to error. When consciousness is released from bondage, we begin inducing higher awareness.

Imagine a shadow on the wall. You do not fear it, hate it, or love it. You simply recognize it as a shadow — without substance. In the same way, when we face physical, mental, moral, or financial challenges, we can learn to see them as shadows: appearances without true power.

When we stop trying to erase, fight, or overcome the shadow — and instead recognize its unreality — harmony is revealed.

Seeing Through Illusion

When we can face any form of dis‑ease, limitation, or mistake with the same neutrality we give a shadow, we begin to awaken the Christ within. We do not deny the appearance; we simply recognize that it has no power except the power we give it.
Bill W. expressed it simply:
“Our seeking always brings a finding. These great mysteries are, after all, enshrined in complete simplicity.”
Enlightenment begins when we stop reacting to shadows and start recognizing Truth.

The Christ as Supply

Whatever your need — money, companionship, opportunity, home, work — it is the Christ‑consciousness that produces it. The degree of your awareness of God determines how the need is met.

Statements alone have no power. They are only shadows unless they arise from conscious realization. When you face a challenge, quietly affirm:

“I and my Father are one.”

This awareness dissolves the belief in problems, because God‑consciousness cannot experience lack or fear.

As we accept that the “I” within us is God, we begin to live as instruments of Divine expression — the light of the world, guiding others who have not yet awakened to their true identity.

Living Your Christ‑Hood

You live the Christ life when the human mind is quiet — when you are not planning, worrying, fearing, or doubting. In this stillness, you witness God unfolding as your experience.

The more you rely on human thought, the less spiritual awareness you express.
The more you rest in God, the more life flows effortlessly.

Knowing the truth makes us free.
So know the truth.

Do not be concerned with outer things — home, money, job, opportunity. Be concerned only with the realization that God is fulfilling Itself as your individual experience. The greater your awareness of God, the greater the form that appears in your world.

If your current circumstances seem limited, acknowledge it honestly — and then change your consciousness. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God” means seek the conscious awareness of God.

Once we feel the Presence, It lives through us and around us.

Say now:

“I and the Father are one.”

This is the beginning of enlightenment.
This is inducing consciousness.

A Thought to Carry Forward

“Don’t let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use.”
Earl Nightingale
