The Law of Attraction and Manifestation is a central teaching of Ernest Holmes, founder of the Science of Mind. He explains it this way:

“Mental Science is not a ‘get-rich-quick scheme,’ nor does it promise something for nothing. It does, however, promise that those who comply with its teaching will be able to bring into their lives greater possibilities and happier conditions.”

There are seven steps (or techniques) that can simplify and deepen your understanding of the Law of Attraction and Manifestation, helping you move toward your goals.

Before sharing these steps, it’s important to prepare your mindset.

Preparing the Mind

There is an energy that moves in and around us, much like a guitar string that must be tuned to the right pitch to produce harmony. In the same way, we must become in tune with the Universe—or God, however you define it.

Example:
You’re talking with a friend and say something you didn’t mean. As the words leave your mouth, you think, “That was stupid.”
Pause and be honest with yourself—deep down, do you feel stupid? That uneasy sensation in your stomach, the anxiety? If you recognize that feeling (and many of us have), then that emotional state may be what you are attracting into your life.

The Law of Attraction does not think or judge. It is simply Cause and Effect:

• Cause: what you think, feel, and do

• Effect: what shows up in your life

Changing a lifetime of negative thinking can be challenging. Each step builds upon the next, so don’t rush the process. You are fine-tuning your consciousness and preparing it for transformation.

How to Put It All Together**

1. Choice

Make a list of everything you would like to change in your life. Ask yourself:

• Who do I want to be?

• What do I want to experience?

Create goals in stages:

• Short-term goals (next 1–2 years)

• Longer-term goals (5 years or more)

If you are new to these teachings, start small—choose something believable. Choosing something you don’t truly trust (like instantly manifesting a million dollars) can create doubt and resistance.

You are already complete and whole, with access to everything you will ever need—but you must choose it. Think of the Universe as a vast buffet. Even if you’re hungry, nothing nourishes you until you select and claim your food.

2. Recognition

This step is about opening yourself to God, the Universe, or your own definition of Divine Intelligence. You are not just a physical body—you live, experience, and participate in life as part of the Universal Mind.

You are not separate from God; you are an expression of it.

3. Unification

Here, you consciously unite yourself with God or Universal Intelligence. You might say:

“I am a perfect expression of God. The power of the Universe moves in me and around me. There is nothing that is not God.”

You are individual, yet connected to everything. Imagine Universal Mind as an ocean—you are the ocean expressing itself as a wave.

4. Realization

Now state your choice from Step 1, remembering that your words are powerful. What you speak is reflected back to you.

That which you desire already exists in spiritual form, awaiting realization. As Joel Goldsmith said:

“By acknowledging that we have, we shall demonstrate have.”

You are not dealing with a personality, but with a law. When desire is fully embodied within you, it can be demonstrated.

5. Visualization

Steps 5 and 6 work together. Relax your body and mind, and vividly imagine your desire.

See it clearly. Feel it emotionally.
If it’s a car—drive it.
If it’s a new experience—live it.

Become fully immersed in the visualization.

6. Thanksgiving

Gratitude affirms that the work is already complete.

Give thanks knowing that Universal Creative Intelligence is already in operation and that what you have chosen is now forming in physical reality.

Awaken from “human sleep” and feel the joy that comes from recognizing your oneness with God.

7. Release and Action

Release this spiritual treatment into Universal Intelligence, knowing it is done. Surrender it.

But do not sit back and wait. Go about your life with confidence, guided by your spoken word and inner knowing. The law acts through action—it responds according to what you do.
